Fortnite Update Brings The Getaway LTM, Grappler, and More
We learned about The Getaway at PAX West 2018, but again, the mode consists of dropping in as a team of four. Your challenge is to find and open one of the four safes. Inside, you’ll find a jewel llama. Once it’s in your possession, head to the getaway van floating in the sky (indicated by a marker on the map). Keep in mind that carrying a jewel will build your health and shields over time, but you’ll also be slowed down by 10%.
Here are the challenges and rewards for the Getaway LTM:
- Play 10 matches of The Getaway – Get 5,000 XP
- Do 500 damage to Jewel carrying opponents – Unlock the Suited Up Spray
- Pick up a Jewel in 5 different matches of The Getaway LTM – Unlock the Cash Flow Contrail
- Complete all 3 Challenges – Unlock the Crowbar Pickaxe
In regards to weapons, the new Grappler allows for players to quickly cover a large amount of land, as it “attaches to anything you hit for quick traversal.” It’s an item of epic rarity.
Below are the patch notes in their entirety:
- Fixed an issue causing some unneeded assets to remain in memory when switching from Save the World to Battle Royale or vice-versa.
- Fixed an issue that caused camera jitter when simultaneously canceling sprint while reloading and aiming down sights.
- Fixed a rare server crash that could occur when a player edits a building.
