Capcom Cup 2018 Will Be Held in Las Vegas

Capcom has released the first details for the upcoming end of this year’s Capcom Pro Tour, the Capcom Cup 2018. The biggest announcements today are the dates and venue. It will be held on December 14-16, 2018 at Esports Arena Las Vegas, which is part of the Luxor Hotel & Casino.

Starting things off will be the Last Chance Qualifier event, which is a special, final qualifier that will see participants competing for the final spot in the thirty-two person Capcom Cup 2018 bracket. Those thirty-two players will fight it out in the Capcom Cup 2018 championship, for a total of $250,000 plus the Capcom Pro Tour DLC prize pool bonus.

Capcom’s blog post announcing the event also states that there will be special guests appearing as part of the festivities, but no one has been named yet. As usual, the Capcom Fighters social media channels are where you’ll want to direct your attention, if you want to catch all the updates.

Last year, MenaRD, a player from the Dominian Republic, managed to not only dig himself out of the losers bracket, but did so against multi-time Evo champion Tokido, ultimately taking home the win and the more than $370,000 prize pot.

If you missed last year’s events and want to catch up on the stories from Capcom Cup 2017, Capcom Fighters has an official playlist that should help get you up to speed in time for this year’s events.
