Dark Horse and CD Projekt RED Team Up for Another The Witcher Comic Series

Dark Horse Comics has announced plans to re-team with CD Projekt RED on a new Witcher miniseries. The comic series, titled The Witcher: Of Flesh and Flame, will run for four issues. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt scribe Aleksandra Motyka is penning the series, which features with artwork by Marianna Strychowska.

Dark Horse’s news post announcing the series described Geralt of Rivia’s next adventure as follows:

In The Witcher: Of Flesh and Flame, Geralt is summoned by an old friend to help solve a mystery involving his daughter. Upon his arrival, Geralt is surprised by another friend from the past, and he soon finds himself transported to regions beyond his original expectations.

Dark Horse hasn’t detailed how this fits with the rest of the established lore. However, it seems Of Flesh and Flame does, in some respect, provide subsequent narratives based on Dark Horse’s original series of The Witcher comics. The publisher’s news post encouraged fans to “catch up on previous stories in The Witcher Library Edition ahead of The Witcher: Of Flesh and Flame’s release.”

The Witcher Library Edition is currently available for preorder on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and in comic shops. According to the Amazon listing, The Witcher Library Edition collects issues #1-5 of the Witcher series, House of Glass, Fox Children, Curse of Crows, features the Killing Monsters one-shot, and includes annotations from the comics’ creative team. This collection goes on sale on October 24, 2018.

The Witcher: Of Flesh and Flame #1 hits comic shops and digital stores on December 19, 2018.
