Fortnite‘s latest update gives a nod to its own name with 14 Days of Fortnite, an event that will feature old and new limited time modes that will be available to play over the span of two weeks. This concept plays off the actual word fortnight, which means “a period of 14 days; two weeks.” So this event is a fortnight of Fortnite. Cute, no?
14 Days of Fortnite will kick off on December 19, 2018 at 9 am ET. Large team LTMs will switch every two days and small team LTMs will rotate every twenty-four hours. People will need to log in daily during the event to find out what’s available.
This update also includes your standard bug fixes, weapon/item balances, and game polishes. For instance, the glider redeploy can now occur from a height of only 576 units instead of 1000. Also ground vehicles will now slide on icy surfaces, rather than move unphased. Fortnite‘s newest mode, Creative, is getting four new winter-themed islands for players to experiment with along with prefabs to match.
Below are this week’s patch notes in their entirety.

- Survive as long as you can without your gear or resources, using your survival skills, schematics, and basic starting weapons.
- Get double the resources from searching and harvesting objects.
- Watch for Airdrops between waves for some much-needed supplies.
- You don’t keep any weapons or traps when the experience concludes, so use those Legendary weapons and traps as if your life depends on it!
