CD Projekt’s Cyberpunk 2077 Demo Plans and More Revealed for Gamescom 2019

CD Projekt RED will exhibit its highly-anticipated sci-fi title Cyberpunk 2077 at gamescom 2019 in Cologne, Germany. The studio’s booth, located in Hall 6, Stand C049, will showcase live demos that attendees of the event can watch developers play between August 21st and August 24th. Whether or not these presentations are to consist of the footage shown during E3 2019 remains to be seen. Members of media and trade visitors at gamescom have the opportunity to attend behind-closed-doors demonstrations, which will last from August 20th to August 22nd.

In addition to excitement surrounding the game demonstrations, CD Projekt RED has plans to host a Cyberpunk 2077 Cosplay Contest. The Cosplay Contest is scheduled to take place on August 23rd, and will boast a first place prize amounting to $2,000 and official Cyberpunk 2077 merchandise. Furthermore, the contest’s first place winner will move on to compete in the Cosplay Contest Grand Finale, which at present only has online qualifiers. This larger contest has even more to offer its potential winners, courtesy of its impressive prize pool worth $30,000.

Fans who are unable to attend gamescom 2019 should not fret. CD Projekt RED previously promised the gameplay demo shown at this past E3 will be shared online during PAX West. Like gamescom, the PAX West event will also begin next month, starting on August 30th and ending on September 2nd. For now, the studio has remained silent about when exactly fans should expect the gameplay footage to appear online.

Cyberpunk 2077 is due out early next year on April 16, 2020 for the PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One platforms. Preorders are currently live for the game and its pricey Collector’s Edition. Do not worry, though, those who preorder the base game will not receive in-game bonus goodies of any kind, the studio recently confirmed to a fan online.
