Volition and Deep Silver have offered fans a first look at the world of Santo Ileso in the upcoming Saints Row reboot via an exclusive Game Informer video.
Saints Row graces this month’s Game Informer magazine, so you’ll find plenty to read. But here’s something you can watch that offers a little bit of gameplay and gives you an idea of what Volition’s take on the American Southwest looks like. Do note that this is pre-alpha footage.
Volition previously said that Santo Ileso, a brand new city, is Saints Row‘s “biggest, richest and most ambitious playground ever.”
“The setting of Santo Ileso is a vibrant, fictional city in the heart of the American Southwest; you get to live the fantasy of building your own criminal empire in a brand new huge open-world,” the studio wrote. “As it’s a new city you’ll see some familiar and recognizable stores, plus a whole host of new ones. Santo Ileso also has its own set of radio stations, but you can still expect that Saints Row brand of excellent music taste.”
Saints Row will release on February 25, 2022 for the PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, and PC. An official overview of the title reads:
As the future Boss, with Neenah, Kevin, and Eli by your side, you’ll form The Saints—and take on Los Panteros, The Idols, and Marshall as you build your empire across the streets of Santo Ileso and battle for control of the city. Ultimately Saints Row is the story of a start-up company, it’s just that the business The Saints are in happens to be crime.
