Ubisoft Quietly Pencils January 20 Release Date for Rainbow Six Extraction

A recently updated page on Ubisoft’s website states that Rainbow Six Extraction will release on January 20, 2022.

As spotted by Video Games Chronicle, Ubisoft originally published the article in June this year, and recently updated it to add the aforementioned release date. No official announcement has been made regarding this yet, so it’s possible that Ubisoft is gearing up for a reveal soon.

Rainbow Six Extraction was originally scheduled to release on September 16th. In July, Ubisoft announced that both Riders Republic and Rainbow Six Extraction had been delayed yet again to fine tune both experiences. Rainbow Six Extraction was given a general January 2022 release window.

“Our ambition with Rainbow Six Extraction is to deliver a full-fledged AAA experience that changes the way you play and think about cooperative games,” Ubisoft said back in July. “With unique features like Missing In Action or The Sprawl, every mission is set to be a tense and challenging experience in which you’ll lead the elite operators of Rainbow Six in a fight against a lethal and evolving alien threat. We are embracing the opportunity to take additional time to bring this vision to life in the way it deserves in January 2022. We are confident this will ensure Rainbow Six Extraction is the immersive, cooperative, and thrilling experience we set out to create, and the one you aspire to play.”

Rainbow Six Extraction is in development for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 among other platforms. Ubisoft has said that it doesn’t expect the game to affect Rainbow Six Siege‘s player base because they’re “very different” games.
