Free-to-Play Football Game UFL Signs Cristiano Ronaldo, Reveals Gameplay

UFL, the upcoming free-to-play football game with the catchphrase “Fair to Play”, has received its first gameplay reveal. Developer Strikerz also announced that it is signing world-famous football star Cristiano Ronaldo as the cover athlete. After six years of development, the game will reportedly release sometime in 2022UFL aims to shake up the football game scene, which touts multi-million dollar franchises such as EA’s FIFA and Konami’s PES.

UFL gameplay reveal detailed realistic character models

Certain things in the UFL reveal stand out as particularly promising, such as the realistic Unreal Engine character models. During the special reveal event, Strikerz also announced that the game will feature both ranked and unranked modes, as well as online and offline play. If you’re interested in playing with friends, the game also supports 2v2 and 3v3 matches. The game’s competitive online league boasts a matchmaking system that will pair players of similar skill levels with no handicaps.

More importantly, Strikerz aims to fix one of the more controversial aspects of games like FIFA: the pay-to-win element. Players will have access to over 5,000 real-life football players, with paid and earned progression. The more you play, Strikerz says, the more opportunities you’ll get to upgrade and acquire new characters. Let’s just hope we don’t get another Ukrainian FIFA bot farm fiasco like last year.
