PlayStation Days of Play 2022 Begins Tomorrow With Discounts on Games

Sony has confirmed their PlayStation Days of Play 2022 promotion will begin tomorrow, May 25, with a sale on games and accessories for the PS5 and PS4. However, so far there’s no mention of any other activities throughout the promotional period like free multiplayer weekends or competitions.

The PlayStation Days of Play sale will include discounts on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 games at the PlayStation Store as well as “other select products at retail”. Details on the games that’ll be included in the PS Store sale will be revealed tomorrow, although we do know the sale will end at 11:59 pm local time on June 8.

Certain items will be on sale at the PlayStation Direct store too. These will include DualSense wireless controllers, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Sackboy: A Big Adventure on PS5. PS4 players will benefit from discounts on items like The Last of Us Part II and the PS VR Marvel’s Iron Man VR bundle. Select retailers will be offering discounted prices on the White, Midnight Black, Cosmic Red, Starlight Blue, Nova Pink, and Galactic Purple DualSense controllers; we’re assuming all of these are included in the Playstation direct sale too.

Finally, the PlayStation Gear Store will be offering 20% off certain items for the duration of the promotion. Early birds will also be able to make use of limited-time promotions. May 25 will be the day customers can spend over $50 to get a free insulated beverage sleeve too. On May 26 there is a “buy two get a third free” offer on God of War items. The following day on May 27, PlayStation Shapes will have a “5 under $5” offer.

Aside from the sales, Sony hasn’t announced any more events occurring during the Days of Play period. Previous years have seen free multiplayer weekends, community events, and themed Share of the Week posts. The Days of Play website is yet to be updated for this year, so hopefully, we’ll hear more soon.

In other news, those streaming games through the new PS Plus service will not be able to play DLC or any other add-ons. Elsewhere, Sony has confirmed that PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium games can be played offline.
