Dragon's Dogma 2 Announced

Capcom Finally Announces Dragon’s Dogma 2 But Only On a T-Shirt

When Capcom used their main Capcom Showcase to reveal a 10th Anniversary Stream for Dragon’s Dogma, players were a little disappointed. After all, they’d been hoping for an announcement of a sequel instead. Fear not, though, because Capcom used the 10th Anniversary Stream to announce Dragon’s Dogma 2 is indeed in development.

What we know about Dragon’s Dogma 2

Dragon's Dogma

Very little was said about Dragon’s Dogma II during the Dragon’s Dogma 10th Anniversary stream. Dragon’s Dogma Director Hideaki Itsuno, Art Director Daigo Ikeno, and Level Designer Kenichi Suzuki all donned Dragon’s Dogma II t-shirts as Itsuno told fans the game is currently in development on RE Engine. After apologizing for keeping fans waiting, he said, “everyone in the development team is hard at work creating a game that we hope you will enjoy!” In traditional Capcom fashion, after announcing Dragon’s Dogma II we were told to “please look forward to it”.

While Capcom went on to describe Dragon’s Dogma II’s announcement as a surprise, it was more likely players would have rioted if the game wasn’t announced tonight. Rumors of the game have been spreading since 2014, although they never really gathered steam until a massive data breach at Capcom in 2020 revealed the game’s existence alongside other relatively new titles like Street Fighter 6 and Resident Evil 4 Remake. The game showed up again in the GeForce Now internal database leak last year alongside the aforementioned Resident Evil remake.

Those who can’t wait for the emergence of the long-awaited sequel may want to sate themselves with Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen instead. The game is currently on sale on PS4 at 84% off until June 23, so don’t wait too long to pick up a bargain.

In other news, Returnal 2 is still a possibility but it definitely won’t happen until after Housemarque’s next game. Elsewhere, there are no plans for DLC for TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge right now.
