Well, guess who made an appearance on the PS Blog today? Horizon Forbidden West DLC Burning Shores! Players are forgiven for forgetting that the expansion exists because it almost felt like Sony and Guerrilla Games forgot about it, too.
Horizon Forbidden West DLC still coming in April
We may not know much about it, but Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores is still releasing on April 19th. As previously confirmed, the expansion is only headed to PS5 because Guerrilla Games didn’t want to compromise on its quality.
In a fresh PS Blog interview, game director Mathijs de Jonge sang the PS5’s praises, and we got the now-all-too-familiar stuff about how PS5’s SSD/hardware makes games stand out visually and technically.
So, not much about Burning Shores itself, then. But it’s nice to know it’s still coming soon.
“On PS5, the Horizon Forbidden West base game runs at a higher resolution and at a higher framerate than on PS4, and assets are more detailed which makes the overall quality much better,” de Jonge said.
That’s sure to annoy PS4 players a little bit more, who’ve previously criticized Guerrilla Games’ decision to release the base game on last gen but not its expansion. Time to upgrade!
