The PS Store just ended up revealing an important Resident Evil Requiem PS5 detail that Capcom presumably wanted to surprise players with at The Game Awards 2025. The event will take place this Thursday, December 11, so if you don’t want anything spoiled for you, X out of this article now.
Resident Evil Requiem PS5 preorders on PS Store expose long-rumored character
Still here? Alright, then. Rumors have been swirling for a while that Leon S. Kennedy will return in Resident Evil Requiem, and in a big way. Capcom hasn’t said a word, and there’s been no indication of this beyond rumors… until today, that is.
As spotted by multiple players and now confirmed, those who preordered Resident Evil Requiem via the PS Store were greeted with a game icon thumbnail featuring Leon in their library. We’re not hosting the image here, but you can view it on Reddit.
This isn’t the first time, and certainly won’t be the last time, that a PS Store blooper ruined a surprise. How big a role Leon will play in Requiem, however, remains to be seen.
The game will release on February 27, 2026, for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
