Beginning the new year with a nice surprise for PS5 players, Sony has revealed its latest flashy new accessories, the Hyperpop Collection. These vibrant designs will certainly make gamers’ PlayStation setups pop, and players won’t have to wait too long to get their hands on them.
When is the Hyperpop Collection PS5 accessories release date?
The Hyperpop Collection introduces three new DualSense and console covers to the PS5: Techno Red, Remix Green, and Rhythm Blue. Each features a glossy neon finish at the bottom that fades into black near the top of the accessories.
The Hyperpop DualSense wireless controllers will cost $84.99 USD/¥12,480 (including tax)/€84.99/£74.99. The covers will cost $74.99 USD/¥11,480(including tax)/€74.99/£64.99, and will be available in limited quantities.
The Hyperpop PS5 accessories are slated to launch on March 12. Anyone interested can preorder the special DualSense wireless controllers and console covers on January 16 at 10 a.m. local time at PlayStation Direct.
This is what PlayStation’s Color, Material, and Finish design team members, Leo Cardoso and Sae Kobayashi, had to say about the process of creating the Hyperpop Collection:
“We’re cranking the volume all the way up with a collection that doesn’t just stand out, it takes over the room,” said Cardoso. “Inspired by the glow of the RGB lights of your impressive gaming setups, these new colors go LOUD in the best possible way.”
“A seamless gradient wraps around the front and back of the DualSense, finished in a high-gloss coat that makes the colors POP more than ever,” said Kobayashi. “The console covers are also getting the same glow-up, featuring a subtle hint of transparency.”
Although this may be exciting for many PS5 players, those who spent a bit extra for the PS5 Pro are missing out. Once again, Sony did not make PS5 Pro console covers for this new Hyperpop Collection.
