Dragon Age: Inquisition PS3 multiplayer shutting down

Popular PS3 RPG Finally Shutting Down Multiplayer After 12 Years

A fan favorite EA PS3 action RPG is shutting down multiplayer features after a fantastic 12-year run. Developed by Bioware, Dragon Age: Inquisition released in 2014 for the PS3 and PS4, and introduced a multiplayer mode. While the PS4 version is safe, the PS3 is set to lose those online features next month.

Dragon Age: Inquisition multiplayer shutting down on PS3 in April 2026

Dragon Age: Inquisition multiplayer will shut down on PS3 on April 28, 2026. Players (if there are any still) have until then to enjoy the mode. There aren’t any trophies tied to multiplayer, so there’s no rush to finish anything. Just have fun with it while you still can.

That said, we should warn players that server closure on the PS3 might also affect their ability to import game saves from older Dragon Age games, which allow us to play Inquisition with choices made in previous games. Although EA’s notice only applies to multiplayer, the publisher’s games are known to pull the plug on all available online services.

Dragon Age: Inquisition released to positive reviews and won numerous awards. The game’s PS4 version holds a Metacritic average of 89/100.

It wasn’t until a decade later that BioWare released another Dragon Age game. Unfortunately, however, 2024’s Dragon Age: The Veilguard was a critical and commercial failure.
