PS5 console exclusive Horizon Forbidden West has surprise dropped a new update to add support for the console’s latest feature. Guerrilla Games has finally decided to roll out support for PS5’s Power Saver function six months after it was introduced via system update.
Horizon Forbidden West gets PS5 exclusive update 1.30
“We’re rolling out a small patch for Horizon Forbidden West today,” Guerrilla Games wrote. “Patch 1.30 adds support for Power Saver settings on PlayStation 5, a new option that can reduce power consumption by scaling back performance in supported games when enabled.”
The patch doesn’t make any other changes.
It’s taken some PlayStation Studios devs surprisingly long to add support for PS5’s Power Saver, especially considering numerous third-party studios have already patched their games. But better late than never.
As a reminder, here’s how you can enable Power Saver: Settings > System > Power Saving > Use Power Saver. Once Horizon Forbidden West is updated, the game tile on your PS5 will display a tiny icon that resembles a leaf.
It has been widely reported that Sony’s Power Saver is preparing PS5 games for an upcoming PlayStation handheld that will be part of the PS6 generation. Both the PS6 and the accompanying portable will reportedly launch by the end of 2027.
