Here’s how to get GTA Online with no PS Plus
To celebrate the game’s newest update, which includes its potential final heist before the release of Grand Theft Auto VI, Rockstar is letting fans play for free for a week. This week, players can check out GTA Online on current-generation consoles for free. This means players won’t need PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass Essential to try out the mode through July 20, 2026.
For those that don’t have any online services on console, this is a great way to check out the new content. The latest GTA Online update, The Kortz Center Heist, adds a brand new heist, tasking players with stealing some of the most valuable pieces of art in the game. The update also adds some new vehicles, as well as new changes to the game’s Mission Creator mode.
The update is thought by many to be Grand Theft Auto V’s final large update for GTA Online ahead of the highly anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto VI. That game will also likely get its own huge online component, but will not launch with one when the game releases on November 19, 2026.
