Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered Gets Surprise PlayStation 5 Update for New Feature

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is getting a surprise update on the PlayStation 5. The new update adds compatibility for PS5’s Power Saver function, a major boost for players.

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered’s latest update simply adds in support for Power Saver settings on the PS5. No other notes for the game have been added, so this is just a simple, quick update to enable some new settings.

If your Horizon Zero Dawn game tile on PS5 displays an icon that looks like a little leaf, then the update has been applied.

The Power Saver mode was rolled out in a firmware update last September with the aim of reducing PS5’s power consumption while playing games. The list of games that support the feature is still tiny and understandably dominated by first-party games.

It has been reported that this feature is preparing PS5 games for an upcoming PlayStation handheld that will be part of the PS6 generation. Reliable insiders have said that the handheld will run both PS5 and PS4 games.

You can enable the Power Saver function via the PS5 system menu by following these steps: Go to Settings > System > Power Saving > Use Power Saver.
