A new and promising PlayStation 5 game has received its official release date. The news of the release date came with a brand-new trailer for the Sci-Fi RPG from Archetype Entertainment. The game will be available for modern consoles and PC.
Exodus by Archetype Entertainment is set to release on April 7, 2027. This sci-fi RPG will launch worldwide on the set date. It will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
This announcement was made during Gamescom Opening Night Live. Archetype Entertainment also revealed a new cinematic trailer during the opening night. In the trailer, a new companion to the protagonist was shown along with other supporting characters who join in battles.
What does the new Exodus trailer show?
Exodus’ new trailer gives audiences a glimpse of the cinematic world the game brings. It also introduces the battle sequences that gamers get to play as they continue exploring the Exodus world. However, the highlight of the trailer was the introduction of Salt, an Awakened octopus mercenary and bounty hunter.
The official description reads, “Watch Jun Aslan, salvager turned Traveler, join forces with Salt, an Awakened octopus companion who’s as deadly as she is intelligent. A mercenary and bounty hunter, she hasn’t needed anyone… until now. Her will to survive matches Jun’s own, and together, they’ll have to fight to save the one thing worth going back to: home.”
In the trailer, Salt joins Jun Aslan as a companion. Salt pilots a specialized combat mech suit, which allows her to engage in long-range sniping, quick evasive maneuvers, and create ink-like smokescreens to confuse and disorient enemies.
The trailer also introduces audiences to Emrys, a member fighting alongside the Awakened octopus and Jun. Emrys is a member of the Deva, an enigmatic celestial species defined by multiple consciousnesses.
This celestial species plays a supporting role and launches Remnant Orbs, which can weaken enemies while feeding the stolen power back into Jun as protection. Even though the three come from different species, they must work together and fight threats to save their home.
In celebration of surpassing 500,000 wishlists, Exodus‘ launch will also provide players with the first milestone reward of a Celestial Star Map Decoration for their in-game apartment. Moreover, it was announced that gamers will be able to unlock both in-game and out-of-game rewards like cosmetics, Salt Companion Story Cinematic, and more music tracks, as more milestones are met.
