Anticipated PlayStation 5 Action RPG Gets Release Date Delay for a Great Reason

One of the year’s most highly anticipated isometric action RPGs for PS5 just got a massive delay. Moon Studios has decided to postpone the 1.0 launch of its upcoming game No Rest for the Wicked to 2027. The Ori developer addressed the delays in a new community post, explaining why they made the difficult decision.

The game has been available in Early Access on PC for almost two years. It was supposed to debut on the PlayStation 5 with its 1.0 launch later in October. Following the update, the game will now be released in March 2027 on all platforms. “The honest truth is that we’re a small team, and we’re holding our games to a standard we won’t compromise on,” said Moon Studios in a new community update post.

“We’re close, but close isn’t good enough for our full 1.0 launch. The extra time will help us improve performance, tighten the class system, and polish the whole game to the standard you all deserve. We’d rather take a few more months than ship something that we know isn’t quite perfect yet.”

No Rest for the Wicked’s extra development time will bring more betas & improvements

Moon Studios CEO Thomas Maher addressed fans in a new video accompanying the announcement. In it, he said that the team had been playtesting it a lot and added that “we’re not quite there yet.” The developer also promised to hold more closed and open beta tests in the coming months. Moon Studios confirmed that one of its next major beta tests will be held in December.

The developer also announced compensation rewards and pre-order announcements. Those who pre-purchased the game on PS5 and PC before January 1st, 2027, will receive founders pack rewards.

No Rest for the Wicked is available in Early Access on PC (Steam). It is in development for PS5, PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
