Firewall Ultra PS5 shutting down

Sony Shutting Down 2023 PS5 Exclusive Game, Already Delisted

Sony Interactive Entertainment is shutting down a 2023 PS5 exclusive shooter and has already removed the title from the PS Store without prior warning. Developed by First Contact Entertainment and published by SIE, Firewall Ultra was released for the PSVR2 as a sequel to 2018’s Firewall: Zero Hour. The PS4 game is still going strong and is not impacted.

All of Firewall Ultra’s multiplayer features will be shut down on September 17, 2026. The game will become unplayable after this date, so you have six months to wrap it up and unlock all of its trophies if that’s your thing.

Firewall Ultra didn’t quite live up to its predecessor and released to a lukewarm reception. While Zero Hour holds a Metacritic average score of 79/100, Firewall Ultra settled for a meager 62/100.

The game was billed as “the next evolution of the Firewall franchise.”

“Enlist as an elite contractor and step into a shadow-filled secret world of high-stakes multiplayer tactical espionage,” an official overview states. “Develop your strategies and unique playstyle to complete top-secret objectives with skilled contractors, customizable weapons and loadouts, and an array of high-tech equipment.”

Firewall Ultra has 42 trophies, including Platinum.
