A 2018 PS4 game has surprise dropped a free PS5 upgrade on the PS Store and PS Plus Extra catalog. TinyBuild’s Hello Neighbor is now enhanced for current-gen platforms, complete with support for 4K and 60 frames per second.
Hello Neighbor free PS5 upgrade out now on PS Store and PS Plus catalog
Hello Neighbor’s PS4 version has been part of the PS Plus catalog for a while, and players who haven’t tried it yet can download the PS5 version at no additional cost. All existing PS4 owners can also claim the PS5 upgrade via the PS Store, regardless of their membership status.
Here’s what the PS5 port offers, per tinyBuild:
- 60 FPS gameplay
- 4K and HDR support for stunning visuals
- Improved lighting, shadows, and reflections
- Higher resolution textures and denser environments
- Enhanced post-processing
Hello Neighbor’s updated PS Store listing also carries a PS5 Pro enhanced tag, but we’re not sure what specific enhancements the current-gen version adds.
For those who aren’t familiar with Hello Neighbor, it’s a stealth adventure game in which players move into a mysterious neighborhood with strange happenings.
“Hello Neighbor is a stealth horror game about sneaking into your neighbor’s house to figure out what secrets he’s hiding in the basement,” an official overview reads. “Play against an advanced AI that learns from your every move. Enjoy climbing through the windows? Expect a bear trap. Trying to escape? He’ll find a shortcut.”
A sequel was released in 2022.
