Dead Space 3 Moves 605,000 Copies in February, Crysis 3 Does 260,000

The NPD published the top 10 selling games of February 2013 in North America yesterday, revealing that Dead Space 3 was number 1, followed by Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and fellow new release, Crysis 3.

Today, GameSpot was given some sales figures for the two EA games finishing in the top 3, with Dead Space 3 selling a combined total of 605,000 copies at retail. While those may not be staggering numbers, they’re hopefully enough to help Dead Space 4 become a reality.

Launching on February 19th, Crysis 3 managed to shift 260,000 copies in its 12 days of being available during the February sales period. If you assume that Dead Space 3’s sales were even spread during the entire month (they would have been more front-heavy), Dead Space 3 would have sold about 268,000 copies through its first 12 days, still outdoing Crysis 3.

It is important to note that both of these games were available on both Origin and the PlayStation Network on launch day, and since the NPD doesn’t have access to exact digital numbers, overall sales for each title are higher than 605,000/260,000.
