Update: The new firmware is available now to download and doesn’t make any noticeable changes.
Original story: Usually when Sony announces a new system update for the PlayStation Vita, it predates the actual release by only about a few hours, so we’ll go ahead and guess that 2.12 will be available at some point tonight.
Completely optional, meaning that you won’t be prompted to download it when trying to access the PlayStation Store, 2.12 does the standard improving of “system software stability during use of some features.” Nothing else was announced past that, so this update shouldn’t take too long to install on your Vita.
As always, we’ll do our best to let you know exactly when 2.12 is available to download for everyone, but if you happen to notice that it’s live before we do, please let us know in the comments below.
