The Catch-Up: December 27th, 2013 – Deep Down Gets a New Trailer, Final Fantasy Writer Would Like to see X-3

It’s more like a catch-up for the entire week, but who’s counting?

General News

  • Kazushige Nojima, Scenario Writer for Final Fantasy X and X-2, has said of the Final Fantasy X series, “If demand [for a sequel] is delivered, there could be new developments.” He later added, “I, personally, would like to see a sequel such as Final Fantasy X-3.” While this is seemingly just a hope right now, the full audio drama found within the Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster (in Japanese) has been revealed, with a summary on the YouTube video (click “Show More”) possibly teasing another story in the Final Fantasy X series, but we’ll just have to wait and see.   • While 4J Studios will work on the PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PS Vita versions of Minecraft in 2014, Notch has said, “I am not aware of any plans to release a Wii U version of Minecraft.” Adding, “I agree a Wii U version would make sense, btw. The only reason for no current plans is we’ve got too much work already. I <3 Nintendo.” [Twitter 1, 2, 3]
  • It likely includes people who either downloaded the demo or bought the full game, but Minecraft: PS3 Edition already has over 500,000 people on the leaderboards. [Twitter]

  • If you’ve been playing the Blacklight: Retribution beta on PS4, Zombie Studios has confirmed that, when the beta is over, “you will NOT lose any purchases you have made (either with ZCoin or GP)”, “your character progress will NOT be reset”, and “all your ZCoins will be REFUNDED to your in-game account balance, such that you can spend them again.” [Source]
