I predict the Broncos will win 28-14… in overtime!

General News

  • It’s been a long journey for Shahid Ahmad’s #JRPGVita campaign, and if a recent tease on his Twitter account is any indication, we’ll found out about it soon. Back on Friday, Ahmad said, “We’ll have some news for you soon :) (give me a ‘j’….give me a ‘…….) hehe.” When asked if the next letter was an ‘r’, Shahid only said, “Maybe.” Now we wait and see. • In case you were holding out hope for the Gears of War franchise coming to PlayStation, Microsoft has dashed those hopes by buying the Gears of War rights from Epic. Since the deal includes “rights to all existing and future games, entertainment experiences and merchandise,” expect Gears of War stay on Xbox for a very, very, very, very long time. [Source]
  • Ahead of the Super Bowl on Sunday, a simulation in Madden NFL 25 has predicted that the Denver Broncos will beat the Seattle Seahawks 31-28 in overtime. EA notes how the Madden simulator has been correct 8 out of the last 10 times, so there’s that. [Press Release]
  • Best Buy USA is currently holding a Buy 2, Get 1 free offer on all regularly priced PS3 and Xbox 360 games. [Check It Out]
  • You probably saw it in the PS+ post we did earlier today, but Curve Studios has confirmed that the Curve Mega Bundle will be coming to North America tomorrow and Europe on Wednesday. Included is Thomas Was Alone, Lone Survivor, Proteus, and Stealth Inc., and they estimate it’s “about 70% off the regular prices with the Plus discount.” [Twitter 1, 2]

  • It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about the PS3/PS Vita title CounterSpy from Dynamighty, but the developer has said we should expect to hear news in February. [Twitter]
  • I suspect I’ll be typing Namco Bandai for quite some time after the official name change, but the company has announced that their name will be changed to Bandai Namco on April 1st in all markets (it was Bandai Namco in Japan already). They’re doing this to elevate the appeal and value of the Bandai Namco brand overseas. [Via, Source]
  • Shortly after announcing it had passed QA in North America and Europe, FuturLab has let it be known that “Surge Deluxe is coming very soon.” We’ll let you know once the date is revealed. [Twitter 1, 2]
  • Sega has given Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA f on PS Vita a Western release window of March 2014, with the game being available on the PSN when it does launch. [Source]
  • The plan for Supergiant Games is to bring Transistor out on PS4 at the same time as PC. [Twitter]
  • Tecmo Koei is “working on” bringing Dead or Alive 1 and/or Dead or Alive 2 to the PlayStation Store. We’ll let you know if they eventually succeed in doing this. [Twitter]

New Videos

  • A behind-the-scenes video for South Park: The Stick of Truth, which is out in March, talks about authentic crappiness, shows a lot of the game, and more:

Is it just me or does South Park: The Stick of Truth seem to get better and better the more they show? Let everyone know your thoughts in the comments.
