Japanese Sales Chart: Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire Sells 1.4 Million Copies

As if there was any doubt, Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire easily claimed first place in Japan last week, selling over 1.4 million copies across both versions. Thanks to the game, every single Nintendo 3DS hardware saw a rise in sales.

Following Pokemon, Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires on PlayStation 3 finished in 3rd with 38,000 sold, while Assassin’s Creed Unity on PlayStation 4 moved 36,400 (the Xbox One version finished outside the top 20). Despite the new release of Unity, the PlayStation 4 hardware fell by a few thousand, and the PlayStation Vita hardware dropped by 9,000 due to no big releases.

Elsewhere in hardware, the Xbox One defeated the PlayStation Vita TV, and the PlayStation Portable is nearly off the charts for good with only 11 units sold.
