Popular Japanese voice actress Miyu Matsuki died on Oct. 27, Japanese news sources are now confirming. In July, she caught acute pneumonia and never recovered.

Her blog was updated today, stating that the funeral will be limited to family.

The final, retrospectively heart-wrenching entry that she wrote herself was a cheerful celebration of her 38th birthday in September. She said:

一人ケーキ入刀。

実は私のテーブルの上にはウエルカムボードなどもあったりして、

気分は完全に結婚式。

見事なソロウエディングです。

私、この病気が治ったら、本気で婚活するんだ…!

Which is to say that sitting at a table with a cake kinda felt like a solo wedding. She concluded, “Once I get better, I want to do one for real!”

Her most recent gaming work had been as the voice of Lailah in Tales of Zestiria. She appeared in other popular games such as Musashi Samurai Legend, Atelier Iris 3, and Melty Blood, but was best known for her work in anime, having played roles such as Anna Nishikinomiya in the popular Shimoneta.

We wish her family peace and comfort as they deal with her untimely passing.
