Just a few days after Square Enix said Moogles might not be included in Final Fantasy XV, Game Director Hajime Tabata went on Twitter to confirm their inclusion – but it will be in a limited role:
Hi Tabata here. Congrats Moogle! I’d like to thank everyone that voted. I will think of a fun little way to feature Moogles in #FFXV.
Importantly, at this stage of development I will not be making a trade off with the other work remaining in order to fit them in. So it won’t be a very chatty Moogle, but will be done with a suitably light level of development work as a fun little #FFXV extra.
Afterwards, Tabata gave some good news about the development status of Final Fantasy XV, announcing that the pre-beta version is finished:
Development update! The pre-beta version of #FFXV is complete. For the past 6 months we have focused on crossing this line.
At my request PR and publicity has been relatively quiet recently to allow us to focus on finishing this stage of #FFXV development. We’re making great progress towards #FFXV and our big event next March will reveal lots more. Hope you’re looking forward to it.
Final Fantasy XV is scheduled for a 2016 launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with that event in March expected to reveal a firm release date.
