Blizzard Hiring Game Director for Unannounced Diablo Project

A job posting on Blizzard’s website indicates that the developer might be working on a new Diablo game. The advertisement is for the all-important position of Game Director for an “unannounced project” but within the realm of Diablo. Blizzard is specifically looking for someone to lead the series “into the future,” with the main responsibility being that of a “vision holder for the franchise.”

While the company isn’t ready to reveal any details yet, it did confirm to Polygon that Diablo III game director, Josh Mosqueira, has left after 10 years with Blizzard. A representative further said:

With Diablo III in a good place at this point, Josh felt that now was a good time to pursue other opportunities with minimal impact to the team. We’ll be filling the director role either from within Blizzard or externally.

Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition was released for last-gen consoles alongside PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in August 2014.
