Ahead of the “major announcement” coming tomorrow, August 24, the PlayStation Twitter account (tweet now deleted) has revealed that the Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel DLC will release on October 25 in North America. As the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu also reveals, the DLC will be available in Japan on October 25, priced at ¥1,200 ($12 USD).

Famitsu adds that Ashes of Ariandel includes a new PvP map called the ‘Immortal Arena’ that looks to be covered in snow, weapons such as a big sword covered in colorless flames, ice storm magic, and a ring of light you can throw like a boomerang. This falls in line with what the $24.99 Season Pass description says: “Expand your DARK SOULS III experience with the Season Pass and gain access to 2 epic DLC packs at a discounted price. Challenge yourself with new maps, bosses, enemies and additional weapon and armor sets. Prepare yourself once more and embrace the darkness.”

Expect more details (and a trailer) on Ashes of Ariandel tomorrow following the official announcement.
