Motorstorm: Arctic Edge is coming to the PlayStation 2 and Portable systems, and I got some hands-on time during E3 of the PSP version. Motorstorm made its debut on the PlayStation 3 to much fanfare, and BigBig Studios is hoping to stay true to Evolution’s PS3 franchise.
The control scheme is customizable, but the way they had it laid out steering was controlled with the D-Pad, with the analog nub relegated to camera control. It worked quite fine, with acceleration handled by the R Button and turbo boost assigned to the L button. But the real surprise was the graphics. They are top-notch, especially for the PSP.
The first-person view was extremely impressive, and the framerate stayed solid throughout. The driving seemed very similar to its PlayStation 3 counterparts, including crashes which disassemble your vehicle piece by piece. This is going to be a game to own, the way things looked at E3! Check out the video below, and let us know what you think.
