E3 2010 Won’t Give Birth to Bungie’s Upcoming PS3 Title

Perhaps the biggest news this week has been the deal struck between Halo’s popular developer Bungie and the controversial publisher Activision. Shortly after the announcement only a few days ago, speculation began circulating regarding a reveal of Bungie’s next title, which will presumably be multi-platform. However, a staff member of Bungie has since clarified if there will be a reveal or not.

Brian Jarrard, community boss at Bungie, recently did an interview with Edge magazine and stated that Bungie will only be focusing on Halo: Reach for the Xbox 360 at E3 2010. Brian was quoted saying the following:

“I don’t know where that’s come from. I can tell you we’re definitely not showing the game at E3. It’s definitely our intent to make this announcement and return to business as usual and know that we don’t have to worry about our future any more.”

It’s highly probable that Bungie haven’t even begun production on their next title with Halo: Reach still months from release. However, there will be much to talk about later this year once the title is out and Bungie move on to a new project. Considering Bungie have stated they won’t be making more Halo games, it’ll be interesting to see what they come up with for the fresh hardware that the PS3 should provide.
