Sony Ericsson ‘PlayStation Phone’: The Best Look Yet

Speculation has been running rampant regarding Sony’s upcoming “PlayStation” phone ever since the first images of the device were leaked. It was expected that the phone might get some face time during Sony’s 2011 CES press conference where another new Sony Ericsson smartphone was announced, but unfortunately not a word was mentioned. But that isn’t stopping others from leaking out more information on the Sony Ericsson Xperia phone with full PlayStation controls. In fact, a Chinese website has just given a full preview and spec breakdown of the phone, and has shed some light on the PlayStation Phone’s PlayStation gaming app which is now called “PlayStation Pocket”.

Chinese website IT186 has released videos, pictures, and specifications for the Sony Ericsson Xperia “PlayStation” phone. According to the released information, the Android-based phone will have a battery capacity of 1,500mAh, 854 x 480 resolution on a 4-inch LCD screen, a 5-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash, 1Ghz Snapdragon processor, Qualcomm Adreno 205 GPU, 512MB RAM, 512 MB ROM, a microSD slot, SIM slot, micro-USB, and a second mic on the back of the phone for noise cancellation. These specs blow the PSPgo’s specs out of the water, which has a 333Mhz processor by comparison.

Below are the latest pictures of the device showing an updated build, which is most likely going to be the final look of the device when it is finally announced. They not only show the size comparison of the Sony phone to current PSP models, but you can also get a good look at the phone’s interface, which should be familiar to anyone with an Android phone.
