Activision Spins Another Web with The Amazing Spider-Man

At Comic-Con, Activision has announced a brand new web-slinging game, The Amazing Spider-Man, which is based on the 2012 movie of the same name. The game is being developed by Beenox, who has been responsible for the past few Spidey games and will be an open-world affair.

At the convention, Activision producer Doug Hede talked about Beenox and how their track record has been mixed, with the recently released Edge of Time receiving a 60% metacritic score. According to him, the lengthy development time on The Amazing Spider-Man will make sure that the turnout this time will be different.

Beenox creative director Gerard Lehiany stated that the game has been in development for over a year, with one team working on the just completed Edge of Time and the other on The Amazing Spider-Man. The game will be releasing sometime in 2012 and we are certain it will be around the movie’s June 3rd release. It is said to continue the story of the film.

A proper trailer has yet to be released but here is some off-screen footage of what was shown at comic-con.
