Kaz Hirai must be grinning from ear-to-ear at the success of the Vita’s first week outside of Japan. In addition to selling a whopping 1.2 million units worldwide, software sales for the platform completely dominated in the UK, with Uncharted: Golden Abyss and FIFA Football blowing away the competition.
While these two title make up a whopping 50 percent of all the software sales for the Vita, Rayman Origins received a bit of a boost from the Vita version, placing it in fifth this past week. You’ll also notice that WipEout 2048 managed to squeeze in at 11th place.
On the hardware front, the Wi-Fi model was unsurprisingly more popular than its more expensive 3G brother, making up 79% of all Vita hardware sales.
