Square Enix has just revealed “the voice and performance actress” behind Lara Croft in their upcoming Tomb Raider reboot, and it’s none other than the True Blood star Camilla Luddington.

According to the developer, after an “international talent search using scouts in Europe and the US,” they settled on her, as they believe she is fully capable of conveying the “depth of emotion and the youthful tone needed for Lara Croft in the upcoming reimagining of the Tomb Raider franchise.”

According to Crystal Dynamics head Darrell Gallagher, selecting Lara was no easy task, as finding the perfect actress to play the character was “one of the most important jobs for us to get right. This Tomb Raider game is very different to any other and we are demanding far more from the voice and performance acting than ever before as we take the franchise in a new direction,” he said.

Tomb Raider is set to launch on March 5th of next year.
