Borderlands 2 Virtually Complete, Off for Platform Certification Very Soon

The wait is almost over all you shooter-hungry loot fanatics. With just two months until the game’s release, Borderlands 2 is nearing completion as developer Gearbox preps the final product for certification.

According to an update from the team on Gearboxity, the developer’s official community gaming site, all of the game’s on-disc content has been completed and the game is ready to be sent off to undergo the necessary certification processes. As such, the team has now shifted their focus to DLC, the first of which involving a brand-new character class, the Mechromancer, which will be free for those who are part of the Borderlands 2 Premiere Club.

This sequel from Gearbox aims to serve up one heck of an ambitious experience. With a countless number of weapons, a huge sprawling world, a wide array of character classes and a single-player campaign that will last you over 50 hours, there’s plenty of value packed into this game.

Borderlands 2 launches on September 18th for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
