Eric Monacelli, Naughty Dog’s Community Strategist, has been great about keeping people up to speed on all aspects of The Last of Us, with an update late last month revealing how “it’s very unlikely infected will appear in [multiplayer].”
Replying to people on the PS Blog following the release of the first DLC map pack for The Last of Us, Eric definitively said, “Infected won’t be appearing in the multiplayer.” With this comment, it appears as though Naughty Dog has decided what they’ll be doing for the third DLC pack and it won’t include Infected.
For a couple other miscellaneous pieces of The Last of Us information, Monacelli said that, when it comes to taunts being more useful, “We are considering working more on those, but it depends on time and resources.” As for the Season Pass, it will disappear after a certain point, though you do “have time” before Naughty Dog announces that they’re taking it down. Finally, those hats Naughty Dog promised with the Season Pass will be coming out over the next couple of weeks, with the first batch next week.
