PS Vita System Software Update 3.00 “Should” Fix ‘Preparing to Download’ Issue

If you haven’t downloaded it yet, system software update 3.00 for the PlayStation Vita is now live, bringing along a host of new features, including the important PS4 Link App for Remote Play and Second Screen functionality.

While not detailed in the notes, it appears as though 3.00 addresses the annoying ‘Preparing to Download’ issue that happens on the PlayStation Vita often after trying to download a game, which forces you to restart the system and try downloading it again. This news is according to Sharon Kapitula, who handles Platform Marketing at SCEA, when she said, “Yes! This should be fixed in 3.00. Thanks for your patience, sorry it took a bit!,” after being asked if the fix was included.

We’ll just have to wait and see if it truly was fixed in 3.00, but something that wasn’t included in the new update is an increase of the 100 icon limit. Mayumi Donovan, European Product Manager at SCEE, said that the “100 icon limit stays the same,” while Sharon added, “Thanks for the feedback, we are taking this in to consideration!”

If Sony decides to up the 100 icon limit in the future, we’ll let you know.
