One Piece Unlimited World Red Hits PS3 & PS Vita in 2014

For you One Piece fans out there, Namco Bandai has announced that One Piece Unlimited World Red will be released in North America and Europe in 2014, though they failed to give any more launch date specifics beyond that. According to the press releases, Europe will be getting retail versions of Unlimited World Red on PS3, PS Vita, 3DS, and Wii U, while North America will get retail versions on PS3/3DS and digital versions on PS Vita/Wii U.

An action-RPG developed by Ganbarion, Unlimited World Red will see you playing as your favorite crew members of Straw Hat in a “whole new never-before-seen scenario,” all while being challenged by bosses such as Crocodile, Rob Lucci, Caesar Clown, and more. The game will also support co-op with up to 4 players locally on PS Vita/3DS and up to 2-player split-screen on PS3/Wii U.

Here’s your first look at the game:

Hiroaki Ochiai, Senior VP of IP Strategy at Namco Bandai Europe, had this to say about One Piece Unlimited World Red:

As one of the most successful manga we ever witnessed, One Piece is a phenomenon that deserves AAA adaptations. We decided to team-up with Ganbarion to create a new opus for the Unlimited series. Thanks to their expertise, we are sure to have an amazing game where all the details from the One Piece universe will be perfectly pictured. On top of that, we are really proud and happy to have a never-before-seen scenario for this game!
