Report: Diablo 3 PS4 Download Size in Europe is Over 60GB (Update)

August 13, 2014Written by Jason Dunning

Blizzard issued a statement to Eurogamer about the install size for Diablo 3 on PS4, confirming that Sony’s listing was incorrect:

The original Sony listing is an error – the actual size of the game client, which is also comprised of the language files for the game in English, French, German and Italian, is 37.8 GB.

When players actually download the game they will get the game and the language file of their choice, which will come in at around 16GB.

Original Story:

If the PlayStation Store is to be believed, gamers in Europe will need to download a file size ranging from 58.2GB – 62.7GB (depending on your country) when buying Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate Evil Edition on PlayStation 4. For comparison’s sake, the North American PlayStation Store lists Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate Evil Edition on PS4 as taking up 26.1GB.

It’s unclear what the reason for such a big jump between regions is, but the most logical conclusion is that it’s to support all of the additional languages.

For those who do plan on getting Diablo 3 through the PlayStation Store when it launches on August 19 in North America and Europe, it will cost £59.99/$59.99 (US)/$64.99 (Canada) on PlayStation 4 and £29.99/$39.99 (US)/$44.99 (Canada) on PlayStation 3. By pre-ordering, you’ll receive the Infernal Pauldrons DLC.
