Destiny PS4 Software Launch Now the Biggest One to Date

With PlayStation 4 Japanese sales getting a nice boost from Destiny, it seems it’s even bigger in the US.

In a post on the official US PlayStation Blog, Vice President, Developer and Publisher Relations Adam Boyes announced that Destiny is now officially the biggest PS4 game launch in North America ever. Destiny broke records as being the fastest purchased and most played PS4 game during its first week on sale. Not only that, but Destiny’s launch was the “single biggest PS4 hardware sales week since Christmas 2013!”

Boyes also shared that PS4 Destiny players across America collectively accumulated more than 11 million gameplay sessions, and that Destiny was also the most shared and most broadcasted PS4 game during its first week on sale.

With Activision revealing that Destiny managed to sell more than $325 million to consumers in its first five days of availability, Sony’s announcement really shouldn’t be that surprising.

Are you still playing Destiny? Does it warrant all these sales accolades or did people just give in to the hype?
