Capcom Reiterates That Street Fighter V Isn’t Free-to-Play

Street Fighter V producer, Yoshinori Ono, has once again reiterated that the upcoming title will not be free-to-play. Speaking to the Famitsu magazine, he said:

Let me set this straight: Street Fighter V is a packaged game. Not free-to-play.

Earlier this year, Capcom’s president Haruhiro Tsujimoto reportedly talked about considering some kind of a pay model for future Street Fighter games in order to close the skills gap between beginners and advanced level players. This gave birth to all kinds of rumors, which Ono was quick to deny back then on Twitter as well:

The SFV news today about a pay to win model is not accurate and isn’t something we’re planning for.

That settles it, then. Street Fighter V is not free-to-play!
