Square Enix Financial Report Shows Last Fiscal Year Was Strong

It looks like this past fiscal year has been quite kind to Square Enix.

In a recently published financial report, Square Enix revealed that during the previous financial year, which ended on March 31, 2015, its video game division (called Digital Entertainment) saw an 18.4 percent increase in yearly revenue from the year before, its revenue up to ¥111.9 billion ($932.7 million). At the same time, its operating income increased by a whopping 61.3 percent compared to the year before, putting it at ¥17.3 billion ($144 million).

According to the company, its strong year had to do with increased sales catalog titles, and it listed a number of mobile and PC games that showed strong sales. Square Enix also noted that Final Fantasy XIV and Dragon Quest X “have been making favorable progress,” but did not actually give any numbers on them.

What do you think of Square Enix’s strong financial year? Do you think it will do well this year?
