Horizon Zero Dawn RPG Elements Fall Between Those in Assassin’s Creed and The Elder Scrolls

We’ve already heard a little about the RPG elements that will be in Horizon Zero Dawn, but in a recent interview with GamesRadar, Guerrilla Games Co-Founder and Managing Director Hermen Hulst decided to make some comparisons between Horizon and a couple of already established RPGs.

When asked if Horizon will offer the same role-playing depth as titles like Skyrim or The Witcher, Hulst explained that it fall somewhere in-between the Assassin’s Creed series and The Elder Scrolls games.

I guess you’re wondering where we are on that spectrum of, on the one side more action-orientated games like Assassin’s Creed, and on the other hand you have your Elder Scrolls and these kinds of series. I think we’re in-between. We have elements in both directions, and that probably puts us somewhere in between. It’s really difficult to talk about how deep the role-playing experience is without being able to show it yet, because people start speculating on it too much. Once we have something to show we’ll talk about it in more detail.

What do you think Hulst’s means by his comments? For more information about Horizon Zero Dawn, check out our preview of the game here.
