PS4 Neo Existence Confirmed by Sony, Won’t Be at E3

In a rather unexpected move by Sony, Andrew House, President and Global Chief Executive of Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed the existence of the long-rumored PS4 Neo but also announced that it won’t make an appearance at this year’s E3.

It’s been presumed by some that PS4 Neo will be part of Sony’s E3 2016 press conference, where price and a release date will be part of the announcement.

House did however, confirm that PS4 Neo will be much more expensive than the PS4 that’s out in the market today, which really shouldn’t be all that surprising. House did stress that he sees both PS4s sitting on store shelves side by side.

Check out some of the PS4 Neo details House said to the Financial Times below:

It is intended to sit alongside and complement the standard PS4…We will be selling both [versions] through the life cycle.

We want to ensure we have a full range of the best experiences on the new system that we can showcase in their entirety.

All games will support the standard PS4 and we anticipate all or a very large majority of games will also support the high-end PS4.

Well. there you go. It looks like the earlier reports were true, which isn’t really all the surprising. Will PlayStation fans buy the new PS4 Neo for 4K gaming and other added benefits (if there are any), or will they stick to their current PS4s?

Anyone expecting this at E3? What do you make of the news?
