Bethesda’s Pete Hines Thinks The Evil Within & Rage Sold Well Enough to Warrant Sequels

Prior to E3 2016, a report surfaced that said a Skyrim remaster, Prey 2, Wolfenstein 2, and The Evil Within 2 would be announced at Bethesda’s press conference. While the Skyrim remaster and new Prey were unveiled, and a new Wolfenstein was teased, nothing was mentioned about The Evil Within 2.

In an interview with Finder at QuakeCon, Pete Hines, VP of PR and Marketing at Bethesda, replied with an emphatic “yes!” when asked if The Evil Within sold well enough to warrant a sequel. Asked the same question about Rage, he said, “I think so.”

Probed further about whether sequels for either of those games are in the pipeline, Hines said he can’t talk about the “unannounced stuff and what we may or may not do,” as it gets him in trouble. Although he won’t confirm or deny what they may or may not be doing, as people might jump to the wrong conclusions, Hines did offer this:

[…] I do think both The Evil Within and Rage did well enough that we could make sequels. Personally I loved Rage and had a ton of fun playing it, but we have a lot of stuff in the pipeline right now so you will have to wait and see.

Would you like to see sequels to The Evil Within and Rage?
