Sony Europe Apologizes for the Retro/Grade PlayStation Plus Error, Adds EndWar to the IGC

When the August PlayStation Plus free games for Europe were announced last month, many people pointed out the fact that PlayStation 3 title Retro/Grade was already offered on the service four years ago. After weeks of silence, PlayStation Europe addressed the issue today, revealing that it was an error and they’ve taken steps to ensure this doesn’t happen again.

To help rectify the issue, PlayStation Europe is now offering PS3 title Tom Clancy’s EndWar as an additional PlayStation Plus free game this month (Retro/Grade is still available in the Instant Game Collection). Members can download EndWar now from the PlayStation Store.

Here’s PlayStation Europe’s full statement on the error:

We would like to apologise for an error that lead to Retro/Grade being offered as one of this month’s free to download games on PS Plus.

We are aware that this title has previously been made available as part of the service in 2012 and had not intended to offer it again. We have now looked into and addressed this issue to ensure that it does not happen in the future.

To rectify this we are pleased to be able to offer an additional title for PS Plus members; Tom Clancy’s EndWar (PS3) from Ubisoft, which is now available to download immediately.

The August 2016 PS+ titles will be available until September 5.

Are you glad to see that Sony won’t be putting repeat titles in the Instant Game Collection?
