The Last Guardian Pre-Orders Are Exceeding Sony’s Expectations

With less than a week to go until The Last Guardian launches for PlayStation 4, Sony product manager Joe Palmer has revealed that pre-orders are exceeding their expectations.

Speaking to MCV, Palmer said, “I can’t comment with specific details, but I can say that pre-orders for The Last Guardian are exceeding expectations.” He adds that they’ve seen a “really positive response to the Collector’s Edition in particular, which despite its higher price point proves there’s a huge appetite for the game.”

Touching on the lengthy development cycle for The Last Guardian, Palmer said, “We’ve tried to avoid fueling the hype by playing on the fact that people have been waiting a long time for this. We want people to be excited because the game looks incredible, not because of its complicated development story.”

Palmer didn’t say how many pre-orders they still have for the cancelled PS3 version, though we do know at least one belongs to PewDiePie.

If you’re picking up The Last Guardian next week, the physical version will take up at least 15GB of space, while the digital version is around 12GB.
