2016 has been a major year for virtual reality video games, as it saw the release of several commercial headsets. Whether or not VR turns out to be a fad or a real revolution remains yet to be seen, but there’s no doubt that this year has been historic for the medium. One of the most exciting advancements is that VR is now available on a console thanks to PlayStation VR, and no longer requires an expensive PC to run (although it still isn’t exactly cheap to jump in on consoles).
PlayStation VR hasn’t been out for long, as it released in October, but it’s had an eventful few months. Following a really solid launch lineup, the system has seen several major releases since then from Ubisoft and other publishers. So, to help recap the year and to give gamers a good list of games to check out, we’ve come up with the 11 best PSVR games of 2016 (which includes our VR game of the year winner).

In fact, solid games like Werewolves Within and Driveclub VR just barely missed making the list. That doesn’t meant they aren’t worth your time, though, so check them out if you’re looking for more!
